About SANPO
SANPO is a small online shop of everyday walking gear for small and low dogs, delivering in the United States: one padded harness, a leash, a collar, a bag holder and the bags that go in it.
The name
Sanpo is the Japanese word for a walk. Not a hike, not an outing with a plan: the everyday kind, around the block or through the park, the one you take before coffee and again after dinner.
The walk, at their height
We look at the walk from down where they are. A foot off the ground, a walk is smells, leaves, other dogs, a crumb under a bench, the corner you always turn at. So our pictures sit low, at dog height, and the gear is what you notice from there: the padded panel, the click of a buckle, the slack of the leash.
Eleven colors that match
The harness, the leash, the collar and the bag holder come in the same 11 colors: Poppy, Caramel, Ink, Lilac, Peony, Blush, Fern, Pebble, Lemon, Cornflower and Navy. Wear one color head to tail, or mix two. Each piece is sold on its own, at its own price.
Few pieces, used every day
We kept the shop small on purpose: one harness, shown on four breed pages, a leash, a collar, a bag holder and the bags. Each one is for something you do on every walk, from buckling the harness to picking up after them. If a piece had no job on an ordinary Tuesday walk, it did not make it in.
How we chose them
We looked for plain shapes that do one job clearly. A padded harness with two straps that adjust and two buckles that click. A flat leash with a loop handle and a metal snap hook. A collar with a pin buckle and a keeper. A silicone holder with a window, so the next bag is right there. Then one row of eleven colors that work together, and nothing that needed a long explanation.
One harness, four pages
Our harness is shown on four breed pages: a Corgi, a Dachshund, a French Bulldog and a small dog. It is the same harness on each, at the same price. The pages are there to help with the size: see it on a dog like yours, and see where that breed usually lands on the chart.
What we say, and what we leave out
We describe what you can see and use: shapes, colors, sizes and how to put each piece on. Materials are given as the maker describes them, and our Materials & Prop 65 page lists what we are still confirming in writing. Measurements like the length of the leash appear only once the maker confirms them.
How we sell
Shipping and import duties are included in every price. Orders ship with tracking to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C.: allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. Unused items can come back within 30 days of delivery; opened rolls of bags cannot. The details are on our shipping and returns pages.
Before every walk
Every product page ends with a few plain lines on fit and care, and our Fit & Safety page brings them together: fitting a harness and a collar, checking the gear before each walk, the leash near roads, warm days and the bags.
