Size guide

Two measurements, one chart and a quick check once it is on. Here is how to find the size of the harness, and what we know so far about the collar.

  1. Measure the chest

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. Keep it flat and snug, not tight, and read it while your dog is standing.

  2. Measure the neck

Then measure around the neck, where a collar sits. Write both down, and weigh your dog if you can.

  3. Check two fingers

Once the harness is on and both buckles have clicked, two fingers should slide flat under every strap. It should not slide over the head, and it should not pinch behind the front legs.

Corgi HarnessCorgis (Pembroke and Cardigan)Corgis often land between S and M on the chart: measure the chest, it decides.
Dachshund HarnessDachshunds, miniature and standardA mini with a chest of 14 to 17 in takes XS, a standard usually S or M. Under 14 in, XS is too big: measure the chest first.
Frenchie HarnessFrench BulldogsFrench Bulldogs often land between S and M on the chart: measure the chest, it decides.
Small Dog HarnessChihuahuas, Yorkies, Shih Tzus, Pomeranians, Maltese and other small dogsXS starts at a 14 in chest and an 11 in neck. Many Chihuahuas and some Yorkies measure less: measure first, and if the chest is under 14 in, write to us before you order.
  • Between two sizes, take the larger one. If the chest and the weight point to different sizes, go by the chest.
  • Check the fit again after the first few walks, and after a big haircut: two fingers, every strap.

The collar

The Everyday Collar

The collar comes in S, M and L. We are still confirming the neck range of each size with the maker, so we do not publish one yet. Measure around your dog’s neck where the collar sits, add two fingers of room, and write to us at contact@sanpodog.com with that measurement: we will tell you which size to take.
