Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, and around the neck where a collar sits. If the chest and the weight point to different sizes, go by the chest. Between two sizes, take the larger one.

A slow strut down a quiet block, and a sit on every other stoop: a French Bulldog, in our padded harness.
The padded panel goes across the chest, the straps lie flat, and the metal D-ring on the back waits for the leash. French Bulldogs often land between S and M on the chart. A deep chest can put a Frenchie a size above what the weight says, so measure the chest just behind the front legs and go by it. Between two sizes, take the larger one.
A Frenchie walk tends to be a stroll: down a brownstone block in the late afternoon, a long look at a passing pigeon, then home for a nap.

Care
- Wipe it with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it air dry flat, away from a heater or direct sun.
- Check the straps, stitching and buckles before each walk; stop using it if a buckle cracks or a strap frays.
Step by step
How to use it
Open both buckles and loosen the straps.
Put the harness on with the D-ring on your dog’s back, between the shoulders.
Close the buckles until they click.
Tighten the neck and chest straps until two fingers slide flat under every strap, no more.
Clip the leash to the D-ring on the back.
Check the fit again after the first few walks.

Is this the same harness as the other breed pages?
Yes. The Frenchie Harness is the same SANPO harness you will find on the Corgi, Dachshund and Small Dog pages: same price, same 11 colors, same four sizes. This page shows it on a French Bulldog, to help with the size.
Which size for my Frenchie?
French Bulldogs often land between S and M: S is for a chest of 18 to 22 in, M for a chest of 23 to 30 in. Frenchies are often deep in the chest for their weight, so measure the chest just behind the front legs and let it decide. Between two sizes, take the larger one. See the size guide.
How do I put it on a dog who won’t hold still?
Open both buckles and loosen the straps first. Place it with the D-ring on your dog’s back, between the shoulders, click the buckles shut, then bring the straps in until two fingers slide flat underneath. A treat in the other hand helps.
Does Fern come on the leash too?
Yes. The Everyday Leash, the Everyday Collar and the Bag Holder come in the same 11 colors as the harness, Fern included. Each one is sold on its own, at its own price.
How do shipping and returns work?
Shipping is included in the price; there is no separate delivery charge. Orders ship within 1 to 3 business days, then take 7 to 12 business days in transit, so allow about 8 to 15 business days from order confirmation. We deliver to the 50 US states and Washington, D.C. Import duties and customs fees are paid by us. If a carrier ever asks you for any, contact us and we will cover it in full. Unused items in their original condition and packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. You can try a harness or a collar on your dog indoors to check the size: if it is clean, undamaged and has never been worn outside, it still counts as unused. Opened rolls of bags cannot be returned. A product that arrives defective, damaged or wrong, or shows a defect within those 30 days, is replaced or refunded, even if it has been used. Return shipping for a change of mind is paid by the customer; we send the return address by e-mail, and it may be outside the United States. For a defective, damaged or wrong item, we pay it. You can cancel at no charge until your order ships.
